Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, November 19 — To vigorously cultivate and practice the core socialist values, promote traditional Chinese virtues, and establish a new social ethos and appearance of the times, the Central Propaganda Department, the Office of the Central Spiritual Civilization Construction, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the All-China Women's Federation, and the Political Work Department of the Central Military Commission recently issued the "Notice on the Selection and Commendation of the Ninth National Moral Models" (full text issued separately) and its implementation measures. They have deployed and launched the selection and commendation of the Ninth National Moral Models, requiring extensive moral model learning and publicity activities to guide people to respect moral models, learn from moral models, and strive to become moral models, thereby promoting a strong social atmosphere of valuing virtue, emulating the worthy, and practicing morality throughout society.
